FREE JOB TRAINING
FOR OUR VETERANS
An important program has been launched by companies in the information technology (IT) industry to educate, train, and certify and provide job placement assistance for returning veterans. Military who successfully complete the Creating Future Program will have the knowledge and skill level they need to start a career in IT.
Creating Futures is free for all participants. The cost is covered by organizational sponsors such as HP, Xerox, and Ricoh.
The Creative Futures Program is tailored to help individuals with various skill levels. Individuals who have honed their computer skills in the military will be taught how to transfer those skills to civilian life, and those who are new to IT will be taught the basic skills they need to pursue a career in IT.
Returning veterans’, people with disabilities, youth at risk and dislocated workers interested in participating in the program should visit www.creatingfutures.us for information on how to participate.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that there will be 600,000 more jobs than available employees in the IT industry by 2012.
Whats Cooking at the "V"
Well, for those of you that are on diets, you will not like this page. It’s for people who like to indulge in good home-cooked foods.
As you know, we have Greg doing his artistry on the Grill. Big, and I mean BIG Burgers cooked to order the first Friday of every month. He doesn’t stop there, Thick, and juicy Rib eyes cook the way you like and with all the trimmings. You won’t walk away hungry but to enjoy these steaks you need a reservation. Call the Post Canteen and get your name on the list otherwise, you may not get one.
Now, you know how everyone likes to brag about their cooking, well, here at the “V”, we say show us.
