Dear Sisters:

Well, we are half way through my term as your Auxiliary President and I must apologize for being so remiss in getting done what needs to be done. Anyone please do not hesitate to call me and ‘remind’ me of what needs to get done or if there is anything you want put on the agenda to talk about at the meeting.

  We still have time for the Patriotic Art which is due by March 31, 2008. Remember: all art (except those on a stretcher frame) must be matted ONLY IN WHITE! You can get more helpful hints pamphlets that you can get off of the website: http://www.vfw.org and on the Programs site and click on VFW Scholarship Programs. There you will find all the scholarship programs and what they are looking for.  Get the word out to all your friends and grandchildren.

 We are going to be decorating candy boxes again this year with Buddy Poppy’s, selling them with the proceeds going to Operation Uplink.  At this time it doesn't look like any of my ladies wants to do this. Will keep trying.

  Mid Winter, this year was interesting to say the least. I was surprised there were no ‘classes’ to help each of us in our collective offices so we could do better. WHOOHOO The Ladies Aux here donated $900 for CAR and presented the check at Mid-Winter.

  We will be having our next meeting on Feburary 12th at 7 p.m. We now have a "NEW" Treasurer, Carolyn T. and we want to wish her the best on her Endeavourers.  Our tradition of Caring and Taking care of Auxiliary business and our Veterans is still our number one concern. Let us continue to work together to make our VFW post one of the BEST in Texas!

Let our Traditions set us apart. Let our Caring hearts show who we are. We are the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and our Tradition of Caring has pulsed steadily through our 94-year history. It’s time for it to spread further than we ever imagined!  I say, ALL of this is POSSIBLE just by WORKING TOGETHER as one unit.
