House Meeting of Tuesday

The House meeting was uneventful.  Discussion centered on a Beer Card for Members only or a means for members to receive a discount. Our Canteen manager is looking into other options and will report back to us on September 2^nd at the next House Meeting.

Post Business Meeting of Tuesday

5 August

Discussions were lively to say the least.

Moving of the Life Member Board:  This will be revisited at the Post Meeting on Tuesday 19 August.  If you have any ideas or input you need to be there.  It’s your Post

No Smoking during meetings in the Post Hall:  This could extend to and function in the Post Hall.  I guess the $1900.00 we spent on Smoke eaters was just an exercise in futility.  Other Post have Banned Smoking and the attendance has picked-up.  What we might consider is adding an out-side Patio to the Canteen so the avid smoker will have a place to smoke.  They are important to us also.

Close Canteen during Post Meetings:  Being an Open Post, it would not be advisable.

The VFW Motorcycle Group has ask permission to hold 50/50 drawing during event at the Post.   These funds would be for a Charity run next spring to the VFW’s Children’s Home.  I think it’s a good idea.

We need to come-up with a Christmas Raffle:  Any ideas would be welcome.

Don’t forget the Veterans RV Park Ribbon Cutting at 5:00 PM on Friday the 8^th of August.
